Aventurines are usually green in color, but, they can also be found in colors like gray, blue, orange, yellow and brown. The green-colored aventurine gets its nice green color from a mineral called Fuschite, which is green sparkly guy which is actually a type of a chromium-rich variety of Muscovite, like mica you find it in makeup. This green can range from a light green to dark green. In addition, there are brown and orange aventurine, the brown and orange colors are attributed to hematite or goethite minerals contained in Aventurine. Aventurine is found all over the world, but the greatest deposit is typically found in India.
What is Jade?
Jade is a cultural term used for two different mineral. There are actually two different kinds of jade. one kind is called the nephrite jade and then the other kind is called jadeite. Since both these minerals have similar appearances and properties, no distinction was made between the two different types of Jade until modern times. This stone is usually green in color, the color can vary from light green to dark green. Deeper green colors are valuable.
The main difference between nephrite and jadeite is the chemical composition. They are actually both forms of silicate, just like aventurine, except that their chemical composition differs in that silicate.
Jadeite is actually a mixture of sodium and aluminum. Jadeite is actually a much more expensive and hard-to-find stone. The large deposit of jadeite is near Tawmaw, Myanmar (Burma).
Whereas Nephrite is actually a mixture of calcium and magnesium. Nephrite can actually be found all over the world but the main deposit obviously is in china. There are also greater deposits in BC and Canada and as well as Poland.
Differences Between Aventurine and Jade
The composition of Aventurine is granular quartz grain aggregates. Its composition minerals are mainly crystalline quartz.
The composition of Jade is a mineral aggregate that is composed of small minerals. The main mineral component is pyroxene, and the minor minerals are tremolite, chromium pyroxene, albite, diopside and so on.
Aventurine is always going to be kind of more into pale lighter green color. Whereas high-quality jade gets into nice dark color, sometimes lower qualities can be kind of a lemony green. But generally, jade has a more richer color, sometimes dark black veins go throughout it.
When they're in the raw state, the main difference is the color inside. If you actually take a bright light, like the light on your cell phone, and shine aventurine, you're gonna see a very consistent color. Whereas jade, you're gonna get that lemony color.
Aventurine has the aventurescence effect. Whereas, Jade does not have the aventurescence effect. When you use bright light to shine aventurine, the aventurescence effect is more obvious, you're gonna see some sparkles that has a very grainy texture on the inside. Whereas jade, you're gonna see nice little spots and little squiggles of darker colors throughout inside.
The worth of the Aventurine is less as compared with the jade. whereas, Jade is more valuable than aventurine.
